I found the top half of this somewhat harder than the bottom, with 5 particularly holding me up (mainly because I interpreted the device of “money unlimited” as meaning you remove both the front and last letters form the word). There were no real stand-out clues for me but it was all good, workmanlike stuff. I have a feeling of having missed something in 11.

A very straightforward solve but enjoyable nonetheless. I also found the bottom half easier that the top half, with the NW corner being the last to fall. PREP was my LOI after EGG CUP and GUATEMALA.

By the way, you have an extra “e” in your answer for 24ac. As far as your comment about 11ac is concerned I don’t see what you can have missed because a BREVET is a document and your analysis of the wordplay is spot on.

D’oh! Just realised you meant 11dn. I saw it as a DD with the first one slightly cryptic.

    Typical but enjoyable Monday fare.

In the answers, 9D is missing f(emale)and 19D spelling of nonconformist is (John) Bunyan.

    Thanks to Quixote and NealH.

Thanks, probably should have checked Bunyan but didn’t have much time to do the blog.
